Models
Guides for Deadlock model swaps: open models in Blender, replace a prop like the soul container, and replace a hero's model at its original size.
Model swaps change the shape of a prop or a hero, not only its colors. Keep every model the same size and shape as the original. What's allowed and how to stay safe explains why.
Start here
New to models? Start with the soul container. It teaches the tools on a small model.
Replace the soul container with your own 3D model. Fit it to one bone, swap the mesh in ModelDoc, and add one material.
Get a hero or prop into Blender to edit it or use it as a reference.
Hero model swap
Put your own character on a hero. Four parts, in order: Blender, ModelDoc, attachments, and a final compile. Read the overview first.
The whole path, the tools, and the rules you must keep.
Fit your mesh to the hero's skeleton and export DMX files.
Swap in your meshes, then rebuild bodygroups, materials, the ragdoll, and LODs.
Copy the original values so the camera, health bar, and sounds still work.
Link the hero's animations in CS2 Workshop Tools, then pack and test.
